Kate Winslet: Her stunning new figure is down to just 20 minutes of Pilates a day
Her body has undergone many transformations over the years - sometimes, to her horror, thanks to a little computer wizardry. But Kate Winslet claims she has achieved arguably her most perfect figure thanks to a simple exercise regime.
The mother of two, once a 13-stone teenager, shows off a svelte size ten physique in her latest shoot for fashion magazine Elle. The 33-year-old Titanic star, who was married to director Sam Mendes, was furious when a dramatically altered photo of her - with thinner legs and a flatter stomach - appeared on the cover of GQ in 2003.
She has since attacked Hollywood's obsession with skinny women.
The actress dismisses suggestions of gruelling exercise regimes or faddy diets being responsible for her new look.
Instead she insists she has slimmed down thanks to regular Pilates sessions at her home which she has done since having her second child five years ago.
"I've actually been this way since I had Joe," she said. "I still don't believe in this craziness for being skinny, but I eat sensibly and I don't stuff down chocolate biscuits. I don't go to the gym because I don't have time but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home."
She still describes herself as a 'very vocal drum-beater for normal women', although she adds: "I guess I have to admit I do care what people think. I hate people thinking I'm some pretentious fraud."
